There’s going to be a huge temptation to employ the agent who offers you the highest appraisal value along with the cheapest commission or fee… Sadly we see this all too often and the industry refers to it as ‘buying a listing’.

If the only point of difference an agent has is being ‘the cheapest’, this isn’t the person you want representing your biggest asset, is it? Not to mention the fact that agents negotiate for a living… If he or she can’t negotiate for the sake of their own fee, how on Earth will they be able to negotiate the best possible price for your property?

Remember, the cheapest agent is the one who puts the most money in your pocket at settlement, not the one with the lowest fee.
